INNOVEX VOTED TOP 50 EMPLOYER ACROSS EUROPE

Innovex has been nominated one of the best places to work in four countries across Europe, by the Great Places to Work Institute®. Germany, Ireland, Italy and the United Kingdom are all represented, with Innovex Belgium being awarded a similar accolade by Trends Gazellen.

Businesses are assessed through an independent, anonymous survey of a random selection of their people, as well as external analysis of their culture, policies and procedures. The culture element comprises credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Results are then benchmarked against other businesses, to determine the Top 50 companies.

This is the fourth nomination in four years for Innovex Germany. Innovex UK is nominated for the first time and is also the first in its sector to be recognised by the Great Place to Work Institute since its awards began in 2001. In Ireland Innovex’s parent company, Quintiles, is also represented.

In the United States:

Kang and Freeburg Honored by Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA)

“I’m excited about what I do because ultimately,
I can have a positive influence on patient outcomes.”

Sonnie Kang, Vice President of Account Services for
Quintiles Medical Communications (QMC)

“I have great admiration for the goals of the HBA.”
Robin Freeburg, Project Leader for Innovex Health Management Services

Reaching for the stars is something both Sonnie Kang, Vice President of Account Services for Quintiles Medical Communications (QMC), and Robin Freeburg, Project Leader for Innovex Health Management Services, are accustomed to when it comes to their vision for enhancing the industry. And now their reaching has paid off — the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) has named them “2006 Rising Stars.”

The HBA Rising Star Award recognizes women who exemplify outstanding qualities, such as leadership, drive, team building, innovation and work/family balance, and who promote growth opportunities for others. Each year the HBA bestows awards to those in the industry who have exhibited special talents and contributed through extraordinary achievements on the job.

Kang and Freeburg were among 68 women from across the country honored at the annual awards luncheon on May 10th in New York City. They also were featured in PharmaVoice magazine's special HBA Rising Star edition. The HBA, based in Fairfield, N.J., is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to furthering the advancement of women in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Dennis Gillings, CBE, Chairman and CEO, says, “We are very proud of Sonnie and Robin and the contributions they make to our company, as well as to the pharmaceutical profession. Both these women are shining examples of leadership and are stars among their co-workers.”

“I’m excited about what I do because ultimately, I can have a positive influence on patient outcomes … this is what inspires me,” says Kang, whose responsibilities include helping pharmaceutical and biotech companies educate healthcare professionals about new products. “It’s really important to love what you do and to be accountable. I’m honored to receive such a prestigious award for doing what I love to the best of my ability.”

Freeburg assists pharmaceutical companies by deploying teams of clinical educators and medical science liaisons to help physicians in their efforts to adopt and implement national guidelines for standards of care into clinical practice.

She recalls: “As a new graduate nurse I reported to a very experienced head nurse. When I went to her with a problem she expected me to take the lead in solving it! She coached me to manage problems in a straightforward manner focusing on the problem not the person. A leader must develop strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and stretch the abilities of others.”

Freeburg says she is especially grateful for the nomination as HBA Rising Star, and recognition by Quintiles and Innovex. “I have great admiration for the goals of the HBA in promoting leadership skills and advancement for women in the healthcare industry.”
