MEDCASES TO DISTRIBUTE CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM THROUGH iQLEARNING WEB PORTAL
  • iQLearning expands online education services for physicians

PARSIPPANY, N.J. and PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - June 24, 2002 - Innovex, a commercialization unit of Quintiles Transnational Corp. (Nasdaq: QTRN), and MedCases, Inc., today announced the signing of an agreement to distribute MedCases CME, an online continuing medical education program for physicians, through iQLearning.com. This healthcare Web portal also enables Quintiles' other U.S.-based commercial, clinical and consulting service groups to communicate and conduct business with physicians and customers in an online environment.

Under the agreement, iQLearning will offer its subscribing physicians access to MedCases' library of continuing medical education simulated patient encounters. These interactive programs provide physicians with trustworthy and authoritative case-based education. Physicians make diagnoses, select lab tests and provide treatments that simulate their own practice environments. MedCases CME includes real-life medical images, such as X-rays, biopsies and surgical videos and provides content that is peer-reviewed, evidence-based and supported by current medical literature.

"This is another example of the broad range of services that iQLearning provides to physicians," said Scott Clark, Vice President, Innovex eHealth Solutions Group. "iQLearning uses the most current Web-based technologies to provide physicians a full range of medical services in a secure, online environment."

Physicians registered with iQLearning will be able to participate in live medical meetings, enroll in CME courses, request product samples, obtain product-specific medical information or "e-detailing," access e-mail and review comprehensive information on drug indications, dosages and interactions. This healthcare Web portal provides a broad range of medical information resources and services to nearly 70,000 physicians in the United States.

MedCases President and Chief Executive Officer Deborah M. Hull said, "This agreement reinforces MedCases' leadership in providing education services to the healthcare community. We are delighted to partner with iQLearning.com to deliver top-quality education services to healthcare professionals."
