The addition of T2A to Quintiles' product commercialization service group, Innovex, significantly enhances Innovex's capabilities in France and strengthens its ability to provide comprehensive contract sales services across Europe.
Quintiles acquired T2A in exchange for Quintiles stock in a pooling of interests transaction that is expected to be neutral to slightly accretive to Quintiles' earnings per share. T2A is a privately held company based in Paris.
"T2A's strong management, established customer base and superior service makes it an excellent addition to Innovex's European sales network," said David White, Innovex CEO. "We now can provide our customers in France with a unique combination of local sales knowledge and presence, and coordinated pan-European or global commercialization programs. This is the latest example of a strategy we have developed worldwide to meet our customers' needs."
With $20 billion a year in sales, the French pharmaceutical market trails only the United States, Japan and Germany.
T2A will be combined with Innovex's existing operations in France and do business as Innovex France. Quintiles has entered into employment agreements with T2A senior managers, including Pierre Olhagaray as president of Innovex France; Bruno Baufle as head of sales and marketing; and Pierre Mancuso as head of finance and administration. Peter Payne, the current head of Innovex's business in France, will continue as head of Innovex Clinical Research and Health Management Services.
"Being a part of Quintiles and Innovex means we can offer our customers a wider range of services," Olhagaray said. "T2A has had great success since its founding in 1979 by Roger Gravier du Monceau, and we look forward to even greater success in the months and years to come."
T2A's office in Paris is located at 2 rue Cepre, Paris, France, phone +33 1 4061 7777, fax +33 1 4783 8222.
