The acquisition of Serval further enhances Quintiles' ability to provide comprehensive contract sales services across Europe. Serval, noted for providing high quality dedicated sales teams to its pharmaceutical customers, will be integrated into Innovex, the Quintiles Transnational service group specializing in product commercialization.

Quintiles acquired Serval in exchange for Quintiles stock in a purchase that is expected to be neutral to slightly accretive to Quintiles' earnings per share.

Quintiles has entered into employment agreements with Serval senior managers, including President and General Manager Alain Volle, who will become Strategic Development Director for Innovex France.

With the addition of Serval, which has about 110 sales representatives, Innovex France now has more than 750 sales representatives. With USD 20 billion a year in sales, the French pharmaceutical market trails only the United States, Japan and Germany.
