These high-performing leaders have the depth and breadth of knowledge across multiple geographies and therapeutic areas to work consultatively with customers to ensure that both the right sales solution is developed and effectively implemented.
Hywel Evans Global Head of Innovex
Hywel Evans has over thirty years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He began his career as a sales representative for Schering UK prior to joining what was ICI and is now AstraZeneca. He followed the traditional sales career ladder progressing from Medical Representative to Regional Manager and ultimately Sales & Marketing Director over a period of fifteen years. Hywel then joined Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Limited as Sales & Marketing Director and was subsequently promoted to Managing Director.
In 1997 he joined Takeda UK Limited as Managing Director prior to joining Innovex UK as MD in 2000. He has held the position of President, Quintiles Europe since August 2002 and has more recently assumed responsibility for Innovex commercialization services across the globe. As an operational sales and marketing manager in pharma Hywel has first hand experience of, and expertise in, handling the short and long term challenges of maximising the return on investment on a portfolio of products both in the launch phase and throughout the lifecycle of any product. He has experienced significant change in the industry over the past 30 years and is able to use this expertise to understand the specific challenges facing individual customers and to work with them to develop innovative sales solutions.

Chris Pepler Vice President Global Sales and Operations Innovex
Chris Pepler has over 20 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He began his pharmaceutical career as a sales representative at Fisons and was rapidly promoted through a series of sales and marketing positions before being appointed as a Divisional National Sales Manager in 1984. In 1993 Chris joined Schering Plough in the UK where he oversaw 3 national sales forces. In all his pharmaceutical company roles Chris increased the performance of his sales teams and was instrumental in driving sales force excellence.
Chris joined Innovex UK in 1997 and used his experience gained within pharma to drive the development and implementation of innovative outsourced sales solutions for a wide range of customers. Chris now has a world-wide remit as Vice President, Global Sales and Operations for Innovex. He is responsible for developing and executing creative portfolios based sales solutions that often encompass multiple countries.

James Lennertz Jr. Global Head of Operations for Innovex
Bringing more than 20 years of industry experience, Jim is currently the Global Head of Operations for Innovex . He works closely with Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies to ensure that the best methodologies, systems and performance management operations are in place to provide the consistent delivery of Key Sales Performance Indicators established for each unique project. Among his specialties is the implementation of operating methodologies and systems that support cross-border, multi-country expansions.
Jim and his team also provide a continuum of total commercialization services that can fill in the infrastructure gaps that may exist in your core sales, marketing and post-launch capabilities to help drive customer-specific needs and objectives.
Jim is well suited for his Global Operations role having experience in the US, Canada and UK with Roche, Boehringer Mannheim and Parke Davis over the past 23 years. With Quintiles he has successfully led numerous global expansions for established Pharma and emerging Biotech companies based out of the US or Europe. Jim’s previous affiliation prior to joining Quintiles was as the Head of Pharmaceuticals for Roche, UK where he was successful in raising the level of performance of his assigned region resulting in consistent double digit annual growth. Jim splits his time working between Quintiles Bracknell UK office, and our Innovex US Headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Justin A. van Gennep, MD Senior Vice President, Head of Innovex Continental Europe
Justin van Gennep, MD, serves as senior vice president and head of Innovex for continental Europe. From 1998 until 2008 he was Managing Director for Innovex and Quintiles in Germany.
He joined Quintiles/Innovex in 1998 and meanwhile possesses more than 25 years of experience as a business leader in the pharmaceutical industry. With unique insight to clinical development and strategic marketing, he plays a vital role in driving the commercialization organization.
He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical representative for Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in the Netherlands. During his 15 years with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals he advanced several times -- serving as head of clinical research in the Netherlands, international group product manager for transplantation in Sandoz’ headquarter in Basle and then global head of the immunology business group. Subsequently, after the merger of Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz into Novartis, he was marketing and sales director for Novartis Pharmaceuticals in the UK. Upon joining Innovex as managing director in Germany, he advanced to senior vice president and head of Innovex for continental Europe in 2006. Dr. van Gennep also serves as a member of the Quintiles’ European Board.
Dr. van Gennep earned his medical degree from the University of Amsterdam and has participated in post-graduate programs including the INSEAD Executive Program (IEP) and a post-graduate course in Pharmaceutical Medicine UWIST.
